Erica L. Blank has more than 20 years’ experience as a real estate attorney with a focus on finance, private equity, and agency trading. She spent the majority of her career as outside general counsel to a private equity company assisting the company in connection with its acquisitions, dispositions and financings of hotels, shopping centers, office buildings, multifamily properties and warehouses in the Caribbean and Central America with a focus in Puerto Rico. In addition, she represents lenders and borrowers in all types of fixed and floating rate loan transactions for various asset classes. She also represents numerous bond investors in the acquisition and disposition of GNMA and FNMA securities, including the table-finding of underlying FHA loans.

Representative matters

Represented purchaser in connection with the acquisition of, and obtaining debt and equity for The Dorado Beach Resort, Dorado, Puerto Rico and subsequent development in the resort of The Ritz-Carlton Reserve and branded and un-branded residential condominiums. Represented same client in connection with the sale of The Ritz-Carlton Reserve.
Represented client in connection with the initial acquisition, including financing related thereof, and subsequent $1 Billion USD disposition of multiple shopping centers in Puerto Rico to a U.S. REIT along with the corresponding loan assignment and assumption requiring rating agency approval.
Represented client in connection with the purchase, financing and subsequent sale of The Royal Decameron in Panama; a portfolio of 3 Courtyard by Marriott hotels in Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, and Trinidad and Tobago; the Hotel Fiesta and the Hilton Papagayo in Costa Rica; and Global Park office complex in Costa Rica.
