Angelina is an English qualified solicitor with experience acting on both domestic and cross-border finance transactions. Angelina’s practice focuses on the financing, securitisation and restructuring of commercial real estate debt.
She regularly advises facility agents and security trustees on real estate investment and development financing transactions in jurisdictions such as the UK, Ireland, Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Portugal in relation to asset classes such as logistics, office and retail properties, hotels, student accommodation, shopping centres and residential and multi-family properties.
Angelina acts for large servicers and special servicers in the commercial real estate market and is actively involved in the European commercial mortgage securitisation market.
She advises servicers and special servicers regarding ongoing legal issues arising out of requests from borrowers for waivers and amendments to loan documents due to non-compliance with financial covenants. She also advises on various requests for extensions to final repayment dates, liquidity facility issues due to appraisal reduction events and issues surrounding replacement of the account bank and liquidity provider on downgrade events, and replacement of Lehman as swap counterparty.
Angelina is familiar with working alongside trustees, issuers and junior lenders in restructuring securitised loans by providing restructuring and enforcement advice on defaulted loans; negotiating standstill arrangements, property disposal plans and various loan sales; and working closely with lawyers from other jurisdictions on pan-European deals.
