Law Business Research affiliate Who’s Who Legal has included four additional Reed Smith lawyers in its 2023 directory, the international law firm announced today.

The lawyers ranked highly for their successes in arbitration, construction law and energy, and for their work in Japan, France and the Middle East.

  • London-based partner James Atkin was recommended for Energy - Oil & Gas: Global, and for Energy & Natural Resources: Japan, a ranking he also received in 2022. Atkin advises clients on transactions in Asia, Australia, the Middle East, Africa and North America. He has extensive experience advising on the structuring and development of large-scale oil and gas projects, LNG sale arrangements, and energy-related mergers and acquisitions. Atkin also supports clients at the forefront of the energy transition.
  • Michelle Nelson, an energy and natural resources partner based in Dubai, received a Global Elite Thought Leader ranking in the Construction category. She was ranked a Thought Leader in Construction in 2022. Nelson is an experienced lawyer whose practice focuses on the Middle East, advising on major oil and gas and construction infrastructure disputes.
  • Paris-based partner Peter Rosher, global chair of Reed Smith's international arbitration practice, earned a Thought Leader ranking for France - Construction 2023, a repeat of 2022. This year, Rosher also was recommended in France and globally for both arbitration and construction. He is a dual-qualified English solicitor/French avocat with three decades in international arbitration.
