Mary Ellen is a senior paralegal in the Energy & Natural Resources Group. She supports legal teams in negotiating large-scale, domestic and international engineering, procurement and construction agreements, subcontracting agreements, and equipment supply agreements. She has worked on energy generation projects in North America, Central America and Europe totaling thousands of megawatts of electrical capacity. Her experience includes coordinating and performing due diligence for solar and wind project acquisitions. She also has experience developing practice-protocols with energy clients interested in securely managing project documentation.
Mary Ellen’s general corporate experience includes securities law compliance, debt financing, corporate governance and general business law. She has also worked with derivative trade counterparties and service providers in bankruptcy proceedings.
In addition to energy industry projects and general corporate experience, Mary Ellen has an extensive background in global equity compensation and works with multinational clients offering equity to employees, directors and consultants. For these clients, Mary Ellen calendars, drafts, tracks, and generally ensures proper filing of securities, tax, and data protection notifications globally.
Prior to becoming a paralegal, Mary Ellen worked primarily in the non-profit sector. She has managed the overseas office of a non-profit organization, established and coordinated a western regional coalition for a DC-based international organization, and organized a United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification conference for environmental organizations of the western hemisphere.
