This new course, which is part of IECA's Credit Risk Management Certification Program (CRMCP), is designed for the basic to intermediate skill level and is a great refresher course for the more experienced Credit or Risk Management professional. Completion of this course will meet one of the two required electives for the CRMCP.
Course content is focused on the preparation of credit approval documents that summarize succinctly the overall credit risk exposure that an institution is asked to take on. A variety of practical work aides will be used to help seminar participants back in their day-to-day work environment. The "Presenting Credit Assessments" portion of the course will focus on how to get your message across to management by understanding their perspective, framing messages in the best way and adopting a delivery style that connects with the audience.
Attendees will learn to:
- Write clear, concise, consistent and complete credit approval documents
- Select relevant information, based on the reader's focus, to address key risks and mitigants
- Describe the key risks and how these will be mitigated by the credit structure
- Understand the psychology of decision making in credit committees
- Use a range of communication techniques to deliver the messages
- Anticipate questions and challenges and think on your feet when responding to questions and challenges
