(June 3, 2005, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, PA) – Forty-nine attorneys at Reed Smith LLP, a top-25 global law firm, have been named Pennsylvania Super Lawyers for 2005.  The firm’s Pennsylvania offices are located in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.

The 49 Reed Smith professionals honored comprise slightly more than 13 percent of the firm’s lawyers in Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania Super Lawyers® are selected annually in a competition jointly sponsored by the publishers of Law & Politics and Philadelphia magazine. Attorneys are nominated by their peers, reviewed by a blue ribbon panel and evaluated by the attorney-led research staff at Law & Politics. This year 5 percent of attorneys practicing in the state were chosen for the honor.

Two attorneys from Reed Smith’s Pittsburgh office were named among the state’s “Top 100” lawyers for the year; another from Philadelphia was named among the ”Top 50 Female” attorneys statewide; and four were selected among the “Top 50” practitioners in Pittsburgh.

Reed Smith attorneys were also selected as the state’s best within 20 different practice specialties, including antitrust legislation, associations/nonprofit law, banking and financial, bankruptcy and workout, bonds and government finance, business litigation and civil litigation defense.  Other specialties in which the firm’s attorneys were honored were class action/mass torts, construction, criminal defense-white collar, energy law, environmental/land use, general litigation, health care law, insurance coverage, intellectual property law, international, labor and employment, real estate and tax law.
