Thayane Machin Martinez is an associate in the Global Commercial Disputes Group in our Miami office.
Her practice focuses on international disputes, with an emphasis on cross-border commercial disputes, as well as international commercial and investment arbitration.
With a background spanning both civil law and common law systems, Thayane is admitted to practice in Brazil and Florida. Her dual legal training enables her to represent clients effectively in matters involving Brazil and other jurisdictions, offering a nuanced approach to complex international disputes. Her deep understanding of diverse legal and cultural perspectives allows her to anticipate challenges and craft strategies that align with different jurisdictions, providing clients with a distinct advantage in navigating cross-border disputes.
She has experience in complex litigation before state and federal courts, as well as in applications for section 1782. She regularly advises clients on U.S. discovery for use in foreign proceedings. Fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, and English, she is well-equipped to handle multijurisdictional disputes.
Deeply engaged in the arbitration community, Thayane holds a master’s degree in International Arbitration and serves on the Leadership Team of Young MIAS (Miami International Arbitration Society) as Academic Liaison, where she contributes to fostering engagement between practitioners, young professionals, and students, bridging the gap between academia and practice.
