Gilberto will discuss the challenges and practical issues in the field of investor-state arbitration, such as the benefits of the cooling-off period, obtaining third-party funding, efficient fact-finding tasks, treaty-based claims involving breaches of contracts, and the most frequent challenges arising from the representation of sovereign states.
His four-hour in-person session is part of a five-week seminar aimed at in-house counsel, practitioners, graduate students, foreign investors in the oil, gas, and mining sectors, and other stakeholders in Colombia and the LATAM region.
