Dubai-based Antonia Birt, along with Paris-based Andrew Tetley and Peter Rosher, have been appointed by their ICC national committees (UAE, New Zealand and France respectively) to be delegates to the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR from July 1, 2024, until June 30, 2027.

Rosher is the current global chair of Reed Smith’s international arbitration practice. He is a dual-qualified (English/French) lawyer with over 30 years’ experience in international arbitration, advising clients on contentious issues as well as providing extensive advisory services in relation to “live” major projects.

Tetley is a French avocat and English solicitor with broad experience in commercial litigation, international arbitration and project work. He practised for more than 10 years in New Zealand as a barrister and solicitor, after beginning legal practice with a leading firm of solicitors in the UK. Andrew has been practising law in Paris for over 15 years.

Birt is a partner in the firm’s commercial disputes group who advises on the full cycle of complex, high-value commercial and construction disputes, from settlement negotiations and mediations to formal proceedings and enforcement.

Rosher and Tetley’s role are re-elections as they both have been serving as delegates since 2022 and 2012 respectively. This is Birt’s first appointment as an ICC delegate.

The ICC Commission counts delegates from more than 100 countries and comprises lawyers, arbitrators, mediators, in-house counsel, corporate representatives and academics in the field of international dispute resolution.

The Commission’s mission is to gather expertise on arbitration and ADR across the ICC network to enable thought leadership. The Commission produces reports, recommendations and guidance on practical, procedural and legal issues in arbitration and ADR and provides input on rule updates in ICC Dispute Resolution Services.

Many Reed Smith international arbitration lawyers have been appointed to leadership roles in the arbitral community, including at the ICC.
